What is AdBlue?
Increasing numbers of manufacturers New Holland, Fendt, Massey Ferguson are using AdBlue to cut exhaust emissions in their vehicles.
They must meet the Stage IIIB standard for non-road engines which started coming into force in January 2011.
AdBlue is not a fuel additive. It is a solution (ISO 22241 standard) which is drip-fed in minute quantities into diesel engine exhaust systems to convert harmful nitrous oxides into harmless nitrogen and water.
Your vehicles will require a separate AdBlue tank and delivery system. Expect your machinery to use AdBlue at a rate of around 5% five litres of AdBlue for every 100 litres of diesel consumed.
